In Friday night's portion of the meet, Washington alum Olivia Gruver was eighth in the women's pole vault, clearing 14-5.25 (4.40m), as she needed two attempts each to clear her first two bars, before bowing out at 14-9 (4.50m).

Bridget Williams won the event, clearing 15-5 (4.70m).

Former Western Washington standout Mac Franks was fifth in the men's steeplechase, running 8:48.71, as Tokyo Olympian Mason Ferlic won in 8:22.25.

Gorze fell short after being on pace for the first half, running 29:00.17. the third fastest time by an American high schooler.

In Hengelo, Netherlands, Washington State alum CJ Allen, and former Renton resident Devon Allen are entered in Sunday's Fanny Blankers-Koen meet.

CJ Allen is the top seed in the men's 400 hurdles, after winning the USATF LA Grand Prix with a personal best 47.91 last week at UCLA.

Devon Allen is entered in a field that includes two time world champ Grant Holloway, along with fellow Americans Freddie Crittenden and Eric Edwards.
