INDIANAPOLIS--USA Track & Field announced Thursday the roster for the Pan American Games that will be contested October 22-November 4th at the Julio Martínez National Stadium in Santiago, Chile.
Five athletes with ties to the state of Washington are among the members of the Pan Am team that head to Chile which will be contested in the middle of the spring season in the Southern Hemisphere.
2019 Pan Am steeple silver medalist and Pasco native Marisa Howard (Paul Merca photo) returns to Team USATF. Howard was fifth in the finals of the steeple at the Toyota USATF outdoor championships in July.
Also on the squad on the women's side are Olympia native Brooke Feldmeier in the 800, and the University of Washington's Nastassja Campbell, the NCAA runner-up in the pole vault.
Among those on the men's squad with Washington ties includes Seattle resident Derek Holdsworth in the 800, who was sixth at nationals, and Seattle Pacific alum Turner Wiley in the marathon.
Competition gets under way with the men's and women's marathons on October 22, with track and field events in the stadium starting on October 30.
