NEW ORLEANS--As conference championship week gets underway around the country, both Washington Husky track and field teams are hanging on to their spots in the USTFCCCA NCAA D1 Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index, released Tuesday morning.
The men's team dropped one spot to number 24, while the women's squad fell four positions to number 25.
Both teams were idle last weekend.
The nation's top five men's teams entering this week's conference championships are in order: Florida, Texas A&M, LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas.
USC at number 6 joins the Huskies as the only Pac-12 men's team in the top 25.
The women's national top 5 are in order: LSU, Arkansas, Oregon, Texas A&M, and Illinois.
USC at number 16 is the only other Pac-12 team in the national top 25.
The final Pac-12 track and field championships will be contested Friday-Sunday May 10-12 at Potts Field on the campus of the University of Colorado.
