CJ Allen & Brian Fay set to race at Bislett Games in Oslo Thursday...
Less than a week after his third place finish at the Nike Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Washington State alum CJ Allen (Marise Nassour/Diamond League photo) heads across the Atlantic Ocean to compete in Thursday's Bislett Games in Oslo in the sixth stop on the Wanda Diamond League circuit.
The 400 meter hurdler, who finished third in Eugene, will face a field that includes hometown hero, three time world champion and defending Olympic champion Karsten Warholm, who is running his season opener in the event.
Allen will also face Estonia's Rasmus Mägi, who beat him for second at Hayward Field, as well as Alison dos Santos of Brazil, the 2022 world champion.
For Allen, this is the first of two meets that he'll run in Scandinavia, as he moves on to Stockholm to run in Sunday's Bauhaus Galan meet, which is also part of the Wanda Diamond League circuit.
Allen is the current Diamond League leader with 13 points after finishing second in Doha, and third in Eugene.
Washington alum Brian Fay is entered in the men's 5000, as the Irishman looks to improve his season best from 13:14.97, which he ran in the Diamond League season opening meet in Xiamen, China.
Fay will face a field that includes reigning Olympic 5000m champion and 3 time world 10000m champ Joshua Cheptegai of Uganda, and eleven other runners who have personal bests in the 5000 under 13 minutes, as opposed to Fay's current PB of 13:01.40.
Peacock ($) will stream the meet starting at 11 am, Pacific.
Washington State alum Brock Eager throws in the first of two days of competition at the Iron Wood Classic at the Iron Wood Throwers Center in Rathdrum, Idaho, about 30 minutes east of Spokane.
Eager, who threw his best of 251-3 (76.52m) at this meet last year, will face a field all looking to get qualifying marks for the Olympic Trials which begin on June 21st.
Saturday's portion of the meet is a World Athletics Continental Tour-Bronze level competition.
