Texas A&M's Sam Whitmarsh & Georgetown's Chloe Scrimgeour newest additions to Seattle's Brooks Beasts...
SEATTLE--The Brooks Beasts announced that Sam Whitmarsh and Chloe Scrimgeour (photos courtesy Brooks Running) have joined the team following the completion of their eligibility at Texas A&M and Georgetown, respectively.
He's a four time SEC champion at that distance, winning two indoor titles and two outdoor crowns his last two seasons at Texas A&M.
Whitmarsh, who advanced to the semifinals at the US Olympic Trials last year, has a personal best of 1:44.46 set last year.
Her highest finish at the NCAA championships were an eighth place finish at the 2023 cross country championship meet, and a pair of fifth place finishes at 10000 meters the last two seasons on the track.
She has personal bests of 8:50.46 for 3000, 15:05.40 for 5000, and 31:41.68 over 10000.
Both Whitmarsh and Scrimgeour had name, image, and likeness deals with the Seattle-based company as undergraduates.
Whitmarsh joins a Beasts squad led by coach Danny Mackey that's arguably one of the deepest at 800 meters, led by Olympian Brandon Miller, 2023 world championships competitor Isaiah Harris, '25 world indoor participant John Rivera, and Brannon Kidder.
Scrimgeour will join Allie Buchalski and Washington alum Kayley DeLay on the Beasts' distance roster. The duo finished 1-2 at last December's USATF national club cross country championships at Chambers Creek in University Place, south of Tacoma.
