Fay, O'Sullivan and Pellicoro race in Rovereto Tuesday night...
With just a few meets of note left in the track and field season in Europe, a trio of runners with Washington ties are competing in Tuesday night's Palio Citta' Della Quercia meet in Rovereto, Italy.
The Palio Citta' Della Quercia meet is a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meeting.
Washington alums Brian Fay (Paul Merca photo) goes in the men's 3000, where he'll face a field that includes former Oregon standout Cooper Teare.
Fay's fellow Irish countrywoman and UW alum Sophie O'Sullivan, along with Laura Pellicoro of Italy and the Seattle based Brooks Beasts, are both entered in the women's 1500, where the biggest name in the field is reigning world and Olympic silver medalist Nadia Battocletti, who is dropping down in distance from the 10000, where she won her medals.
Battocletti recently set an Italian national record in the 1500, where she ran 3:57.54 almost a week ago in Bellinzona, Switzerland.
Flotrack ($) will stream the meet live starting at 11:00 am Pacific.
