NEW ORLEANS--
With the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships in Albuquerque now in the rear view mirror, the USTFCCCA formally announced the All-America honors Monday.

Athletes of member institutions who finished in the top-8 of their respective individual events and relays at the 2023 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico, took home First-Team All-America honors, while those who placed ninth through 16th individually and as part of a relay earned Second-Team All-America.

Capping a historic season in which the Washington men's team finished fourth and made the podium for the first time in school history, eight different individuals earned the Huskies ten First Team All-America honors.

Those eight were: Luke Houser and Brian Fay (mile), Joe Waskom and Nathan Green (mile, distance medley relay), Jayden White (weight throw), Bruno Comin Pescador (heptathlon), Daniel Gaik (distance medley relay), and Kieran Lumb (3000, distance medley relay).

Houser won the mile, while Waskom, Green and Fay finished fourth, fifth, and eighth respectively.

Waskom and Green teamed with Lumb and Gaik to finish fourth in the distance medley relay.

White was fifth in the weight throw, while Comin Pescador and Lumb were eighth in the heptathlon, and 3000.

Washington had the third most first team All-Americans behind national champion Arkansas' 18, and third place Florida's 11.

Other men with Washington ties who earned First Team All American honors were Walla Walla native Kenneth Rooks of BYU in the distance medley relay (eighth), and former Husky Jonah Wilson of Nebraska in the shot put (second).

On the women's side, Washington had three First Team All Americans in Sara Borton and Nastassja Campbell in the pole vault (fifth & sixth), and Ida Eikeng in the pentathlon (eighth).

Other women with Washington ties who earned First Team All American honors were Woodinville native Olivia Markezich of Notre Dame in the 3000 and distance medley (second & third); Lake Stevens native Taylor Roe of Oklahoma State in the 3000 and distance medley (third & sixth); University Place native Lexi Ellis of Oregon in the triple jump (eighth); and former Washington State standout Charisma Taylor, who transferred to Tennessee.

Taylor earned three All-America honors in the triple jump (second), 60 hurdles (third), and long jump (fifth).

In Division II, national champion Vanessa Aniteye of Seattle Pacific, and Western Washington's distance medley relay team of Drew Weber (1200m), Brian Le (400m), Jonah Bloom (800m) and Will Henry (1600m), which finished seventh, earned First Team All American honors.
