Three of Washington's Division I schools slated to race Friday...
Three of Washington's five Division I schools are back in action Friday as the third full week of the NCAA cross country racing begins.
Washington State, led by Kelvin Limo (#1398/photo courtesy WSU Athletics) hosts the Cougar Classic at the Colfax Golf Club Friday afternoon, with the men's 8k at 5 pm, and the women's 6k at 5:45 pm.
Gonzaga, whose women's squad won the Waves Invitational hosted by Pepperdine in Malibu last week, is sending a younger group down to Colfax, and are doing the same with their men's squad, which will be racing next week at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis.
Host Washington State's entries include most of their front line runners.
Meanwhile, Eastern Washington heads over to Missoula to run in the Montana Invitational Friday morning.
The races offer a preview of the 2023 Big Sky Championship course, set to be hosted by the University of Montana on Oct. 27. Races on Friday begin at 8:30 a.m. PT with the men's 8k, followed by the women's 5k at 9:10 am.
In addition to host Montana and the Eagles, Montana State and Weber State's women's squad will run in Missoula and get a look at the championship course.
