UW alums Kieran Lumb & Brian Fay set 1500m PBs in Padova...
In Padova, Italy, Washington alum Kieran Lumb (Paul Merca photo) set a personal best Sunday evening in the men's 1500 at the Meeting Int.le Città di Padova.
The Vancouver native and Canadian champion finished fourth in 3:34.55, as Mohad Abdikadar Sheik Ali of Italy won in a personal best 3:33.79.
Lumb's personal best is just over a second behind the Paris Olympic Games standard of 3:33.50.
Lumb's previous personal best was 3:35.43 set at the Portland Track Festival in June.
In the same race, fellow Husky alum Brian Fay also set a personal best of 3:36.52, eclipsing his previous best of 3:38.39 set in May at the On Track Festival in Walnut, California.
In the women's 1500, current Husky Sophie O'Sullivan finished eighth in the top section, running 4:07.66 in her first race since the first round of the world championships in Budapest.
Nadia Battocletti of Italy won in a meet record 4:03.34.
Carley Thomas of the Huskies was ninth in the top section of the women's 800, running 2:02.41, as Sinclaire Johnson of the Nike Union Athletics Club of Portland won in 1:59.76.
Recent UW grad Sam Ellis was eighth in the top section of the men's 800, running 1:49.31, as Italy's Francesco Pernici won in 1:45.41.
