Puget Sound's Alex Rhodes runs 46.00 third leg to help Team USATF win men's 4x4 title at World U20s...


LIMA, Peru--
Alex Rhodes of the University of Puget Sound (photo courtesy USA Track & Field) ran the third leg on Team USA's gold medal winning 4 x 400 meter relay team team to cap off the final event of the World Athletics Under-20 Championships at the Estadio Atlético de la Villa Deportiva Nacional Saturday afternoon.

After leadoff leg Jayden Davis got Team USATF off to a strong start with a 45.92 opening leg, second leg Xavier Donaldson extended the lead of the Americans with an identical 45.92 leg.

Rhodes had over a two-second lead before handing the baton to anchor Sidi Njie, running 46.00 on his leg.

Njie brought the baton home with a 45.72 split to give the USA the win in 3:03.56.

Washington State's Grant Buckmiller was not selected by the US coaching staff to run on the relay after running in the semis on Friday.
