A word from the publisher, plus a sneak peek into the Tokyo world champs viewers' guide...
It's hard to believe that the biggest track and field meet of the year is less than a few days away, as the World Athletics Outdoor Championships begin Saturday morning at the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo.
Without tooting my own horn, since I started this venture in 2007, paulmerca.blogspot.com has covered collegiate and professional track & field in the state of Washington at a level which no print, broadcast or online media has come close to.
We've covered the highs and lows of the sport here in the state of Washington, and we've been one of the few online sites in the United States that's maintained a consistent presence covering the biggest events in the sport, whether it's the NCAAs, the USA Championships, the Olympics, and the world championships, of which Tokyo will be the tenth world championships where this site's had a presence.
Embedded in this post is a light version of the viewers' guide with short biographical information on the twenty three athletes with ties to the state of Washington competing at the world championships, including a record eleven athletes currently attending or graduated from the University of Washington.
Even with the advertising that you see on the site, there are costs incurred in order to give you the best independent coverage of the sport in this state.
Most of the posts on this site will still be free for readers; however as an incentive to you, I continue to offer exclusive "members only" posts, which will be accessed through our Buy Me A Coffee site.
Once you become a member or supporter of the site, I will send you the full version of the PDF embedded below.
Membership ($5/month) and Supporter Levels ($25/$50/$100) are explained in depth on the final page of the PDF.
This is an independent reader-supported project with both free and paid posts. Those who opt to subscribe to my paid posts are providing vital assistance to bolster the independent coverage of Washington’s collegiate and professional track & field and distance running scene.
Please take a look at the PDF. If you'd like the full version, please consider being a member or a supporter of the site by clicking the yellow Buy Me A Coffee radio button below, or the blue button on the lower right hand side of your browser!
Also please let your friends and track and field fans know about the work that we do!
Thanks in advance for your support of this site!
