Katie Nageotte finshes third in Rabat Diamond League pole vault Sunday...

In Rabat, Morocco, Pullman resident Katie Nageotte (above/photo by Paul Merca) finished third in the pole vault Sunday at the Meeting International Mohammed VI d’Athletisme, the sixth stop on the season-long IAAF Diamond League tour.

Nageotte cleared 15-3.75 (4.67m), as reigning world indoor champion Sandi Morris took the victory with a meet record 15-9.75 (4.82m).

Nageotte’s series included a first attempt clearance at 14-8 (4.47m) a second attempt clearance at 15-0 (4.57m), and a first attempt make at 15-3.75 (4.67m), before bowing out at 15-7.75 (4.77m).

The IAAF Diamond League series moves on to Stanford, California for the Nike Prefontaine Classic on June 30th at the meet’s temporary location at Cobb Track and Angell Field on the campus of Stanford University as Historic Hayward Field in Eugene undergoes a renovation before next year’s meet as well as the US Olympic Trials.

In Boston, University of Washington volunteer assistant coach Sam Prakel finished sixth in the mens road mile at Sunday’s adidas Boost Boston Games, North America’s only street meet, on the streets of downtown Boston.

Prakel ran 3:58.1, as Marcin Lewandowski of Poland took the victory by running a 54.8 last quarter mile for a final time of 3:57.4.

In the women’s 600 meter run, Olympia native Brooke Feldmeier was tenth in 1:33.2, as Ajee Wilson won in 1:26.3.

In our report on last Thursday’s Bislett Games in Oslo, we missed incoming Washington freshman Carley Thomas’ ninth place finish in the 800, as she ran 2:05.78.

On Saturday, the native of Australia moved on to Nijmegen in the Netherlands, where she won the women’s 800 in 2:02.85, her second fastest time this season.
