NEW ORLEANS--
Despite running an incomplete team at the Ash Creek Collegiate meet last week at Western Oregon University, the Seattle Pacific women's cross country team maintained its national ranking in the USTFCCCA Division II coaches poll released Wednesday.

The Falcons, who placed four runners in the top sixteen last week at the Ash Creek Collegiate, dropped one spot from their pre-season ranking of number 21 to 22 in the poll.

The women's top five teams in NCAA Division II are in order: Grand Valley State, Colorado School of Mines, Adams State, Augustana (South Dakota), and Southern Indiana.

Besides Seattle Pacific, Simon Fraser is the only other team from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in the national top 30 at number 10.

In contrast, the Western Washington men's team, which was ranked number 24 in the Division II pre-season poll, dropped out of the national top 30.

The men's top five teams in NCAA Division II are in order: Colorado School of Mines, Grand Valley State, Adams State, Chico State, and Lee (Tennessee).

Simon Fraser is the only GNAC school in the national top 30 at number 19.

Seattle Pacific, Western Washington and Central Washington are scheduled to compete at Saturday's PLU Invitational meet in Tacoma, hosted by Pacific Lutheran University on its campus course, with the women's 6k scheduled for 11 am, and the mens' 8k at 11:45 am.

The USTFCCCA rankings are available here.
