Seattle Pacific & Central Washington head to Bellingham for Bill Roe WWU Classic...

With all of Washington's Division I schools idle this weekend, the state's Division II schools take center stage at Bellingham's Sudden Valley Golf Course for Saturday's Bill Roe (photo courtesy Club Northwest) WWU Classic hosted by Western Washington University.

Host Western Washington will be joined by Central Washington and Seattle Pacific in Bellingham, along with GNAC members Simon Fraser and Alaska Fairbanks.

Action at the Bill Roe WWU Classic gets underway at 10 am with the men's 10k, and the women's 6k at 11 am.

For Western, Central and Seattle Pacific, this will be the final major regular season test before the GNAC championship meet on October 23rd in Lacey at Saint Martin's home course, though Central is scheduled to send a few runners to Spokane for next week's Sasquatch Invitational.

The Bill Roe WWU Classic is named in memory of the longtime Western Washington assistant coach, who was also a former president of USA Track & Field and renowned internationally in the cross country and track and field communities. Roe passed away unexpectedly in February 2020.
