NEW ORLEANS--
The Washington women's cross country team maintained its position inside the top ten in the latest USTFCCCA Division I cross country poll released Tuesday by the organization.

The Huskies, who were idle last weekend, held on to the number 9 position, while Gonzaga dropped out of the national top 30, after being ranked number 30 following last weekend's meets.

Defending national champion North Carolina State maintained its hold on the number one position, followed in order by: New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Northern Arizona, and BYU.

No other schools from the West Coast Conference are in the top 30.

Other schools in the top 30 from the Pac-12 include number 7 Colorado, number 8 Stanford, number 12 Utah and number 21 Oregon.

In the men's national poll, both Gonzaga and Washington dropped positions, but are still solidly in the top 30. Gonzaga fell two spots to number 14, while the Huskies dropped three to number 26.

There was no change in the national top 5 from last week, so it remains, in order: BYU, Stanford, Northern Arizona, Oklahoma State, and Tulsa.

As was the case in the women's rankings, there are no other teams from the West Coast Conference in the top 30.

Other men's teams from the Pac-12 include number 8 Colorado, and number 24 Oregon.

Washington remains idle this weekend, while Gonzaga is scheduled to send a group to Lewiston, Idaho for the Inland Empire Classic, hosted by Lewis-Clark State on Saturday.
