Stone Boggs finishes fourth at Oklahoma State; Eagles win Lewis & Clark team title...

STILLWATER, Oklahoma--
Alaina Stone Boggs's (photo courtesy WSU Athletics) fourth place finish helped lead Washington State to a fifth place finish at Saturday's Weis-Crockett Invitational, hosted by Oklahoma State University on the OSU Cross Country Course.

Stone Boggs cruised through the 6k course in a time of 20:38, as she continued to lead the Cougars in every race she's run in this season.

Caroline Jerotich was the second Cougar across the finish line, finishing 16th in 21:16. Neema Kimtai was 47th in 21:45. Pietra Da Silva was 71st in 22:04, and Samantha Boyle rounded out the scorers in 136th in 22:53.

Oklahoma State sat out their top runners, including Lake Stevens native Taylor Roe, but teammate Billah Jepkirui took the win in 20:16.

Cal Baptist took the team title with 50 points.

In the men's 8k, team leader Brian Barsaiya led the way again for the Cougs, finishing 25th in 24:09, as Washington State finished 12th with 349 points.

Kelvin Limo was 49th in 24:32, followed by Leif Swanson in 55th at 24:37. Turlan Morlan was 117th in 25:19, and Kyle Ortega-Gammill was 124th in 25:23.

Montana State's Duncan Hamilton won the individual title in 23:29, to lead the Bobcats to the team title by a 62-63 margin over Cal Baptist.



In Estacada, Oregon, the Eastern Washington (photo courtesy EWU Athletics) women's team put all five runners inside the top 20 to win the Lewis & Clark Invitational at Milo McIver State Park.

The Eagles, who did not place a runner inside the top ten, were led by Faith Martinez, who covered the 6k course in 22:16. She was followed by Lilly Fetzer in 13th at 22:22, with Jasmin Munition in 14th, one second back.

Madi Carr was 18th in 22:28, and Kaylin Sheley was one place and one second back to seal the win for the Eagles with a final team score of 65 points.

Seattle University was sixth with 188 points, led by Azelea Groleau in eighth place in 22:09.

Unattached runner Shannon Hugged was the individual winner in 21:34.

In the men's 8k, Eastern Washington and Seattle University finished in eighth and ninth place, respectively, with final team scores of 195 and 215.

Noah Hasselblad led the way for the Eagles, finishing sixth in 24:34, while Alex Franklin was the top runner for the Redhawks in 15th in 24:53.

Unattached runner Estanis Ruiz won in 24:13, while the University of Portland won with 31 points.

 
All five of Washington's Division I schools are off next week in preparation for the Pac-12 (Washington & Washington State), West Coast Conference (Gonzaga), Big Sky (Eastern Washington), and Western Athletic Conference (SeattleU) championships.
