OLYMPIA--
According to their social media posts, the Huskies will have a double dose of the Molls next fall, as twin pole vaulters Hana and Amanda Moll (photo courtesy World Athletics) from Capital HS will sign their national letters of intent to attend the University of Washington.

Hana won the World Athletics Under-20 championship in Cali, Colombia on August 4th, clearing 14-3.25 (4.35m) in a dramatic conclusion to the event, leapfrogging German teammates Chiara Sisterman, who led the competition going into the height, and Janne Ohrt.

Amanda, who was the top seed entering the world championships, ended up finishing fifth at 13-9.25 (4.20m).

Despite losing the world championships to her sister, Amanda was named the number one high school vaulter in the nation by Track & Field News, in its November issue, over Hana.

Amanda was named number one by the publication in the pole vault despite losing the overall head-to-head matchup by a 6-4 count, based on winning the three major meets over her sister in the 2022 season: the Arcadia Invitational, the Nike Outdoor Nationals, and the USA Under-20 championships, after beginning the spring campaign by setting the national outdoor record of 14-9.5 (4.51m) at the Texas Relays.

Hana cleared a best of 14-8 (4.47m) at the UCS Pole Vault Summit in Reno in early January.

Amanda was second in Track & Field News' overall voting for the 2022 national high school girls' athlete of the year behind 800 meter runner Juliette Whittaker of Mt. de Sales HS in Maryland. Hana finished eighth in the voting.

At the Washington state 3A championships, Amanda won the pole vault at 14-6 (4.42m) and the long jump at 17-8 (5.38m), and teamed with Hana to help win the 4 x 100m relay for Capital.

The twins train under Tim Reilly at the Northwest Pole Vault Club in Seattle.

The University of Washington can't officially comment until the national letter of intent signing period, which begins November 9th.
