Jarred Rome sixth in Crete...
Marysville-Pilchuck grad Jarred Rome, still stinging from his inexplicable failure to make the final eight at the US Olympic Trials in the discus, finished sixth today in a meet in Rethymno, Crete in Greece.
Rome threw 200-5, in an event won by Lithuania's Virgilijus Alekna, a two time Olympic champion, who threw 232-6 to defeat last year's world champion Gerd Kanter of Estonia (225-6).
