In Lausanne, Switzerland, Katie Nageotte (left/photo by Paul Merca) won Thursday’s pole vault at the Athletissima Lausanne meeting on the streets of Lausanne as a prelude to Friday’s main portion of the meet.

Nageotte, who recently moved along with members of her Pullman-based training group and former vertical jumps coach Brad Walker to the Atlanta area, scored an outdoor personal best of 15-9.75 (4.82m) to take the victory.

She started the day with first attempt makes at 15-0 (4.57m) and 15-3.75 (4.67m), before needing a second attempt to navigate 15-5.75 (4.72m).

She along with Great Britain’s Holly Bradshaw passed 15-7.75 (4.77m), a height that Russia’s Anzhelika Sidorova and Sweden’s Michaela Meijer could not navigate.

Nageotte cleared the eventual winning height on her second attempt, while Bradshaw missed all three.  Nageotte had three unsuccessful attempts at 16-0.75 (4.90m).
