No major changes in USTFCCCA poll as both Dawgs & Zags stay in top 30...

NEW ORLEANS--
Both Washington and Gonzaga cross country squads maintained their positions in the latest USTFCCCA Division I national poll released Tuesday.

The Huskies, who have yet to race, remain the nation's number 8 men's team, but moved up two spots to number 6 in the women's poll (Madison Heisterman & Naomi Smith of UW/Paul Merca photo).

The Bulldogs moved up two spots in both polls and find themselves at number 21 in the women's rankings, and number 16 in the men's rankings.

The top five men's teams are in order: defending national champion Northern Arizona, Oklahoma State, Stanford, BYU, and Colorado.

The women's national top five consists of, in order: defending national champion North Carolina State, New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma State, and Stanford.

Other women's teams from the West Coast Conference and the Pac-12 in the national rankings include number 7 BYU, number 16 Oregon, and number 24 Oregon State.

Number 19 Portland is the only men's team from either the WCC or Pac-12 ranked in the national top 30.

What could potentially be the first significant change in the rankings will happen this weekend, as a number of ranked teams, including both Washington squads and the Gonzaga men's team, will compete this weekend at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Oklahoma, hosted by Oklahoma State University, which will be the first major preview for a number of teams of the NCAA championship course.

The Gonzaga women's team will run this Friday in Boston at the Battle of Beantown, hosted by Boston College.
