Gruver wins final American Track League pole vault competition...

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas--
In the final meet of the 2021 American Track League indoor series, University of Washington alum Olivia Gruver (photo by Paul Merca) took the victory Sunday afternoon at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas.

Gruver was clean through the first three heights of 14-1.25 (4.30m), 14-7.25 (4.45m), and 14-11 (4.55m), as she battled Megan Clark, who is sponsored by Seattle-based Oiselle.

The Husky school record holder and two-time NCAA outdoor champion salted away the victory with a first attempt make at the winning height of 15-5 (4.70m), before finishing with three misses at what would have been an all-time PR of 15-9 (4.80m).

Clark finished second with a best of 14-11 (4.55m)

Cunliffe, a graduate of West Seattle HS, who opted to turn pro last year, opened with a first attempt clearance of 13-7.25 (4.15m), before needing three attempts to clear 14-1.25 (4.30m). The all-time Washington state high school record holder in this event bowed out of the competition at 14-7.25 (4.45m) to finish fourth.
