Washington alums Jack Rowe & Amy-Eloise Markovc named to British team for European Indoors...

BIRMINGHAM, United Kingdom--University of Washington alums Jack Rowe (photo by Paul Merca) and Amy-Eloise Markovc (Neale) have been selected by British Athletics to compete at the European Athletics Indoor Championships March 4-7 in Torun, Poland.

Rowe earned selection by winning the 3000 meters at the British Athletics European Indoor selection trials on Saturday in Manchester, running 7:54.35, just short of his all time best of 7:51.00 set at last year's Husky Classic in Seattle.

Markovc set a British national record in the two mile on February 13th at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix meet in Staten Island, New York, crossing 3000 meters in a personal best 8:54.11.

Both will run the 3000 at the European Indoor championships.
