Host of Washington post collegians head to Austin for Trials of Miles Texas Qualifier...

While most eyes of college and pro track & field fans in the state of Washington will be focused on the Husky Classic on Friday and Saturday, a number of pros with Washington ties are headed to an undisclosed track facility in the Austin, Texas area for the Trials of Miles Texas Qualifier.

This two day meet is set up for athletes as an opportunity to attain Olympic Trials & Games qualifying standards.

Among those running Friday night are Pasco HS grad Marisa Howard (photo by Paul Merca), Winlock resident Ashley Maton and UW alum Baylee Mires in the women's 1500.

Also entered are Olympia native Brooke Feldmeier and Mick Stanovsek in the women's and men's 800.

Bellingham native David Elliott is entered in the men's 5000, while Kirkland native Tansey Lystad and Spokane native Nick Hauger are entered in the women's and men's 10000.

Both days of the meet will be streamed live on Citius Mag's YouTube channel starting at 5 pm, pacific (7 pm, local time in Austin).
