TUCSON--
Washington's Hannah Rusnak (photo by Paul Merca) finished fourth in the heptathlon at the Jim Click Combined Events meet that concluded Friday at Drachman Stadium hosted by the University of Arizona.

Rusnak, who started the day in eighth place, roared all the way to second through six events after winning both the long jump at 19-7.5 (5.98m) and the javelin at 148-6 (45.27m) before the final event, the 800 meters.

Rusnak finished ninth with a time of 2:34.42, well off her personal best of 2:24.93. 

The native of Lynden finished the day with a final score of 5508 points, currently the sixth best score on the NCAA descending order list. Kansas State's Lauren Taubert won with a final score of 5831 points, currently the best score in the country this season.

Lyndsey Lopes of Washington, who was fifth entering the second day, dropped out after the long jump after appearing to injure herself on her third jump.

Decathlete Parker Kennedy of the Huskies earned himself a personal best, as he scored 6907 points to eclipse his previous mark of 6872 points, and finish fifth .

Kennedy started the day with a time of 16.03 in the 110 hurdles, then threw the discus 112-11 (34.43m).

In the pole vault, he cleared 15-5 (4.70m), just short of his personal best of 15-9 (4.80m), then threw the javelin 162-7 (49.55m).

He then made a late charge in the 1500, running 4:42.59, just short of his all time best of 4:42.32 to finish third in the race, and fourth overall.

Washington teammate Ollie Thorner only competed in three of the five events in day 2, throwing the discus 126-3 (38.49m), vaulting 14-9 (4.50m), and throwing the javelin 171-4 (52.24m).

Husky volunteer coach Tim Duckworth also trained through day two, running the 110 hurdles in 14.69, throwing the discus 120-10 (36.83m) and vaulting 16-0.75 (4.90m), before taking three fouls in the javelin. He's preparing for a decathlon in a few weeks in Chula Vista, California.

Oregon's Max Vollmer won the decathlon with a collegiate leading 7695 points, winning both the discus (139-9/42.60m) and the javelin (196-11/60.04m).
