Devon Allen & Olivia Gruver earn wins at USATF Golden Games portion of Mt. SAC Relays...

WALNUT, California--At the USATF Golden Games portion of the Mt. SAC Relays, former Renton resident Devon Allen (Paul Merca photo) won the 110 hurdles Saturday.

Allen posted a time of 13.35 to win over Jamal Britt's 13.44, with Aaron Mallett third at 13.48.

An hour before he won the 110 hurdles, he ran his first 100 meter dash in almost two years, finishing third in his heat in a wind-aided (+3.1) 10.12.

UW alum Olivia Gruver finished in a tie for first in the pole vault with NCAA indoor champ Rachel Baxter of Virginia Tech, as both cleared 14-9 (4.50m) on their first attempt, then missed three straight times at the next height of 15-1 (4.60m).

Fellow Washington alum and Olympic Games finalist Gianna Woodruff finished second in the 400 hurdles, as she ran 54.60 to finish behind training partner Andrenette Knight, who ran 54.39.

Seattle resident Rebecca Mehra finished third in the invitational 1500, running 4:12.46, as Olympian Elise Cranny won in 4:08.07.

One significant mark missed from Friday's competition was that of Vancouver native Kara Winger, who opened her final season with a sixth round throw of 207-7 (63.29m) to set a new meet and stadium record, just short of the world championships qualifying standard of 209-11 (64.00m).
