CJ Allen takes second in 400H at Bauhaus Galan stop in Stockholm...


In Stockholm, Washington State alum CJ Allen (Paul Merca photo) finished second in the 400 hurdles at the Bauhaus Galan meet, the eighth stop on the Wanda Diamond League tour Thursday night.

Allen, who finished fourth at the Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships last week in Eugene, ran 48.28, as Alison dos Santos of Brazil won in a world leading tine of 46.80.

With his second place finish, Allen is currently in eighth place in the Wanda Diamond League standings in the 400 hurdles with 10 points. dos Santos is the overall Diamond League leader with 32 points, based on wins in Doha, Eugene, Oslo and Stockholm.

Allen's Diamond League point totals came in Eugene and Stockholm.

Meanwhile, fresh off three straight personal bests in the 800 at the Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships in Eugene where she finished sixth, Olympia native Brooke Feldmeier finished seventh in a time of 1:59.73, as Kenya's Mary Moraa won in 1:57.68.

THE WEEKEND AHEAD...

Washington's Anna Gibson is entered in the mile at the Morton Games in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday.

Also on tap Saturday, Seattle resident Rebecca Mehra will race over 1500 meters at the Under Armour Sunset Tour at Occidental College in Los Angeles.

Saturday also marks the annual Yakima Mile road race through downtown Yakima in the late afternoon and early evening.

Among the entries are defending champ and UW volunteer coach Sam Prakel, along with world championships team member Johnny Gregorek, both of whom are coached by UW head coach Andy Powell.

Former Husky Mick Stanovsek is in the field as well as recent grad Kieran Lumb. David Ribich of the Brooks Beasts is entered, as are recent WSU grads Zach Stallings and Colton Johnsen.

On the women's side, Ella Donaghu of the Nike Bowerman TC is the headliner, along with Seattle resident Allie Ostrander, and Portland State alum Katie Camarena.

Feldmeier (800m) and Washington alum Olivia Gruver (pole vault) are entered in Sunday's Athletics Canada Warm-Up to Worlds Invitational, a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver level event at Foote Field in Edmonton, Alberta.
