UConn's Chloe Thomas to join Washington Husky track & cross country team...

The University of Washington announced on its social media channels that Chloe Thomas (Paul Merca photo) will attend the school this fall as a grad transfer from the University of Connecticut.

She won the Big East cross country championships, becoming the first Husky to win the conference title.

Thomas, a native of Dundas, Ontario in Canada, finished twelfth at the NCAA outdoor championships in the 5000.

Two weeks after the NCAA cross country championships, she finished sixth in the 5000 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at Boston University, where she ran 15:17.47.

In her first year at UConn, Thomas set the U20 Canadian record in the mile at Boston University, clocking 4:40.74. That summer, she went on to represent Canada at the 2022 World U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia, where she placed 11th in the 3,000m, and also earned the U20 3,000m silver medal at the Canadian national championships.

Thomas is currently redshirting the outdoor season at UConn in preparation for a shot at making the Canadian team for the world championships in the 5000, according to the Canadian Running website.

Last week, Brooks Running announced that Thomas (photo courtesy Brooks Running) signed a name, image, and likeness deal with the Seattle based company.

She joins Washington's Chloe Foerster as some of the recent collegiate track and field athletes who have signed NIL deals with Brooks.
