Former Husky head coach Orin Richburg to lead Team USATF in three meets in 2019...

INDIANAPOLIS--Former University of Washington head coach Orin Richburg (left/photo by Paul Merca), who is USA Track & Field’s national relay coach, will serve on the staffs of three national teams for the 2019 outdoor season.

Richburg begins the 2019 international season as the head coach of Team USATF at the IAAF World Relays in Yokohama, Japan on May 11-12.

He will be joined by Spokane Community College coach Linda Lanker, who will serve as the men’s assistant coach.

Richburg, who currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, serves as relay coach for the Europe vs USA dual meet in September in Minsk, Belarus on September 9-10.

Joining Richburg in Minsk is Mercer Island HS alum Dena Evans, who is the head women’s coach, and former University of Washington thrower Justin St. Clair, who will be the assistant throws coach on that team.

This all is a lead-up to the IAAF World Track & Field Championships September 27-October 6th in Doha, Qatar, where he will be in charge of the relay teams.

Evans will serve on the world championship staff as a women’s assistant coach/distances.

Dr. Monique Burton, who serves at Seattle’s Children’s Hospital in sports medicine, will be the team doctor at the World Relays, along with Asdrubal Lopez of Spokane, who will be the team chiropractor.

Two-time US Olympian in the high jump and Seattle Pacific alum Pam (Spencer) Marquez will be the head women’s coach for the Pan Am U20 Championships team July 19-21st in San Jose, Costa Rica.
