Devon Allen runs season best at Duval County Challenge...

JACKSONVILLE, Florida--Former Renton resident Devon Allen (Paul Merca photo) clocked a season best in the 110 hurdles at the Duval County Challenge Monday evening on the campus of Jacksonville University.

Allen, the defending US Olympic Trials champion and 2016 Olympic finalist, first ran 13.23 to finish second in the semifinals, then dropped it down to 13.22 in the finals, as he finished second to reigning world champion Grant Holloway, who ran 13.10.

Going into Monday's competition, Allen's season best was 13.26, set on May 15th at The Track Meet in Irvine, California.

In the 400 hurdles, Bonney Lake HS grad and 2016 Cape Verde Olympian Jordin Andrade finished third in his heat, running 51.72.  In the top section, Washington State alum CJ Allen finished fourth in a time of 49.75.

The women's 400 hurdles saw Washington alum Gianna Woodruff finish sixth in her heat, running 56.68.

West Seattle HS grad Chloe Cunliffe, who is still pursuing the Olympic Trials qualifying standard of 15-1 (4.60m), finished second in the pole vault, as she cleared 14-1.25 (4.30m).

The final day to obtain a mark for the US Olympic Trials is Sunday, June 13th.
