TUCSON--
Competing in her first meet since undergoing knee surgery last summer, Vancouver native Kara Winger (Paul Merca photo) finished fourth in the javelin at the USATF Throws Festival at Drachman Stadium Saturday night.

Winger threw 200-0 (60.97m), as her 2016 US Olympic teammate Maggie Malone won the competition with her second lifetime best of the week, throwing 209-4 (63.81m), just 19 centimeters short of the Olympic Games standard of 209-11 (64.00m).

Western Washington alum Katie Reichert finished seventh with a throw of 173-5/52.87m.

In the men's javelin, Washington alum Denham Patricelli moved from eighth to sixth with a final round throw of 247-7 (75.46m), setting a personal best.

In the men's hammer, Washington State grad Brock Eager set a personal best with his fifth place finish in the hammer, throwing 248-10 (75.84m).

While there were numerous highlights Saturday at Drachman Stadium, the biggest highlight of the meet was the throw by Oregon native Ryan Crouser in the shot put of 75-6/23.01m, the third furthest throw in history.
