Eagles' Parker Bowden & Savannah Schultz record top marks at low-key Whitworth Twilight...

Eastern Washington's track team got their final tuneup for next week's Big Sky championship meet in Ogden, Utah at the Whitworth Twilight meet Wednesday afternoon and early evening at Boppell Track on the Whitworth campus.

Hurdler Parker Bowden (photo courtesy EWU Athletics) and pole vaulter Savannah Schultz had the two best marks on the day.

Bowden won the men's 110 hurdles in 13.91, beating conference rival Ben Doucette of Idaho, who ran 14.23.

Schultz won the women's pole vault with a clearance of 13-1 (3.99m).

Other significant marks on the day came from Justin Roosma, who won the men's 800 in 1:50.31 a week after setting the school record in the steeplechase; and from hammer thrower Colton Kautz, who threw 202-00 (61.59m).

Gonzaga got two wins on the day from Paxton Depoe in the women's 800 in 2:12.86, and Sadie Tuckwood in the women's 1500 in 4:49.38.

Besides its 10 victories, Eastern finished the evening with 13 runner-up performances and nine third-place finishes.
