Woodruff keeps rolling at USATF Open in Fort Worth...

In Fort Worth, Texas, University of Washington alum Gianna Woodruff (Paul Merca photo) won the 400 hurdles at the USATF Open meet at the AP Ranch Tuesday.

Competing despite strong winds that impacted every event, Woodruff took an early lead, and managed to hold off a late surge by Arizona grad Nnenya Hailey to win in 55.37 to Hailey's 56.05.

Tacoma's Marcus Chambers, who is still looking for an Olympic Trials qualifying standard of 45.20, finished fifth in his heat of the 400, running 46.67.

Western Washington alum Katie Reichert finished third in the javelin, as she threw 158-3 (48.24m).

Former Renton resident and Olympic team member Devon Allen was a victim of the tricky winds, as he finished seventh in his heat of the 110 hurdles in 16.21.
