LOS ANGELES--Bolstered by wins in the discus and the pole vault, the University of Washington men's team finished third at the Pac-12 track & field championships Sunday at Loker Stadium on the campus of the University of Southern California, scoring 114 points.

While the women's squad didn't have any individual winners on the final day of competition at the Pac-12s, they duplicated the men's performance with a tie for third place in the team race, scoring 77 points along with Arizona State.

For the men, the third place finish was the highest since 2016 when the Dawgs were second in Seattle, while the women earned its highest ever finish, having placed fourth five times in the conference, most recently in 2017.

Oregon won yet another conference title, running away with 185 points, followed by USC at 137, then the UW with 114 points. Washington State finished sixth with 61.5 points.

USC won the women's team title with 162.5 points, followed by Oregon's 151 points, then the UW and Arizona State at 77. Washington State was 11th with 16.5 points.

The Huskies got podium (top 3) finishes from Sam Tanner in the 1500 (3rd, 3:41.19), and Cass Elliott in the 400 hurdles (3rd, 50.07 PR).

Kolb in the discus and Paul Ryan in the 1500 (2nd, 3:40.62) were Washington State's two men's podium placers.

The Huskies' lone podium finish on Sunday came from the 4 x 400 relay team of Olivia Ribera, Marlena Preigh, Darhian Mills & Victoria Gersch, which won the first section in 3:40.85, and saw the time hold up for third, as USC (3:30.41) and UCLA (3:31.74) were the only teams to run faster in the top section.

Triple jumper Charisma Taylor was the lone Cougar on the podium, as she finished third with a jump of 43-10.5 (13.37m).
