Chloe Foerster easily moves into semis of 800m at World University Games...
On the second full day of track and field competition at the FISU World University Games at the Lohrheidestadion in Bochum, Germany, outside of Dusseldorf, Washington rising senior Chloe Foerster (Paul Merca photo) easily advanced to Wednesday's semifinals in the women's 800 Tuesday evening.
Running in the second heat, Foerster ran easily, and ran hard enough to finish second, well inside the top four needed to advance to the semifinals.
She clocked 2:02.84, which ended up being the fifth fastest time of the five combined heats.
On Monday, former Husky Saskia Lloyd, who competed for one full season at Washington before transferring back to the University of Melbourne in Australia, finished 21st in the women's 10000, running 35:06.30.
Klara Lukan of Slovenia won the race in a meet record 31:25.84.
There are a number of athletes with Washington ties competing at the World University Games in Bochum.
The group included Maggie Liebich (USA), Sophie O'Sullivan (Ireland), and Amina Maatoug (Netherlands) in the women's 1500; Mia Cochran (USA) and Julia David-Smith (France) in the women's 5000; and Alaina Brady (USA) in the women's heptathlon.
All except for Brady are with the University of Washington, while Brady, a native of Maple Valley, recently graduated from Notre Dame, where she finished fifth in the heptathlon at the NCAA championships.
Wednesday, Brady begins the first of two days of competition in the heptathlon starting at 1:24 am Pacific (10:24 am local time) with the 100 hurdles. She'll also compete in the high jump, shot put and 200 meters.
Meanwhile, Foerster will run in the second of three semifinal heats of the 800 at 11:12 am Pacific (8:12 pm local time).

CJ ALLEN RUNS A SEASON BEST OUTSIDE ATLANTA...
At the Last Chance Qualifier meet at McEachern HS in Powder Springs, outside of Atlanta on Saturday, Washington State alum CJ Allen ran a season best in the 400 hurdles.
Allen won the race in 48.10, eclipsing his previous 2025 best of 48.71, set at the Grand Slam Track meet in Jamaica in April.
Other notable marks came in the 100 hurdles, won by WSU alum Maribel Caicedo in 13.01. Washington State's Parker Duskin, who will transfer to Arizona this fall, ran 14.02 in the prelims, and 14.03 in the finals of the 110 hurdles.
Former Husky Evan Mafilas ran 21.15 in the 200, and 46.11 in the 400.
