Washington's Chloe Foerster (photo courtesy UW Athletics) clocked the second fastest time of her career en route to a seventh place finish in the finals of the women's 800 meters at the FISU World University Games at the Lohrheidestadion Thursday night.

As she did in the semifinals, the Portland native was eighth at the 200 meter mark then tried to pick her was through the field, crossing the 400 mark in 60 seconds.

In the end, Foerster could not bridge the gap between herself and the lead group. She finished in a time of 2:01.58, as Eloisa Coiro of Italy won in 1:59.84.

In the women's heptathlon, Maple Valley native Alaina Brady finished fifteenth with a final score of 5322, well off of her personal best.

Brady, who started day two in eleventh place with 3335 points, started the day with a long jump of 17-10.25 (5.44m) to drop to twelfth.

In the javelin, she threw 105-8 (32.21m), dropping her to fifteenth, then finished with a 2:22.87 in the 800 meters.

Washington's Julia David-Smith, representing France, easily finished third in her heat of the women's 5000 to advance to Saturday night's final.

David-Smith, fresh off a fourth place finish in the same event at the European Athletics U23 championships, was at the back of a group of nine for most of the race, and ran comfortably to cross the finish line in 16:32.99.

She'll contest the finals on Saturday at 11:50 am Pacific (8:50 pm local time).
