THE WEEKEND AHEAD: Central, Western and Seattle Pacific all in action this weekend...

For all but Saint Martin's, this is the final week of the regular season for the state's Division II schools, as Central Washington, Western Washington and Seattle Pacific attempt to set their rosters for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference championship meet on October 25th in Billings, Montana.

Central Washington (photo courtesy CWU Athletics) attempts to punch above its weight as it heads to Springfield, Oregon for Friday's Bill Dellinger Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon.

The Wildcats are the only Division II team in the field that includes Air Force, Cal, Oregon State, San Diego State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UCLA and Weber State, plus host Oregon.

The host Ducks are ranked number 4 in the D1 women's poll, and number 14 in the men's poll.

RunnerSpace.com and Big Ten Plus ($) will stream the meet live starting at 11 AM Pacific time.

The men's 8k begins at 11:15 am, and the women's 6k underway at noon.

Saturday, Western Washington will send their top runners to Romeoville, Illinois for the Lewis Crossover, one of the nation's top Division II invitational meets.

The Western men, currently ranked number 14 in the USTFCCCA D2 coaches poll, will get their first look at number 18 Northwest Nazarene, who on paper, may be the Vikings' biggest threat to unseat them as GNAC champions in two weeks.

Other teams from GNAC that the Vikings will see in Illinois include Alaska Fairbanks, and Alaska Anchorage.

The women's Red 6K race gets underway at 7:45 am Pacific (9:45 am local time), with the men's Red 8K starting 45 minutes later.

Meanwhile, those runners from Central and Western not traveling to Oregon and Illinois, will stay close to home and run at the Emerald City Open, hosted by Club Northwest at Lower Woodland Park.

Seattle Pacific is expected to enter full teams at the Emerald City Open.

The women's 6k starts at 10:30 am, with the men's 8k going 45 minutes later.

The link to live results has not been posted as of yet.
