In Seattle, Maya Ewing (Paul Merca file photo) ran to a 33 second victory as Seattle Pacific placed four runners in the top ten at the Emerald City Open Saturday at Lower Woodland Park.
With both Central Washington and Western Washington having sent their A squads to the Bill Dellinger Invitational and the Lewis Crossover, this was a low-key effort for the Falcons.
Ewing won the 6k race in 22:32, followed by Anna Prussian in second in 23:05.
Matise Mulch was fourth in 23:15, and Alexa Gossett was seventh in 23:33.
For Western Washington, Olivia Friedrich led the way in sixth in 23:24, followed by Kendall Carter in eighth in 23:37, and Alanna Parker was tenth in 24:11.
Camryn Holterhoff was Central Washington's top finisher in 13th at 24:35.
Seattle Pacific won the team title with 27 points, followed by Western Washington with 39 points, and Central Washington was third with 68 points.
In the men's 8k, Western Washington placed seven runners in the top ten to easily take the team title with 22 points. Seattle Pacific was second with 56, and host Club Northwest was third with 68 points.
Douglas Bryant of Club Northwest won in 25:55, with Cale O'Day of Western Washington second at 26:08.
Leaf McQuillen of Western was third at 26:13, followed by teammate Nate Rumberger in 26:19.
Silas Demmert led the way for Seattle Pacific in fifth in 26:21.
In Lewiston, Idaho, Gonzaga swept the team titles at the Lewis-Clark State Invitational, hosted by Lewis-Clark State on Saturday.
The women's team put six runners finishing in the top 20 places to take the team title by a 32-38 count over second place Idaho.
Camille Broadbent finished as the top runner for the Zags, capturing fourth place with a time of 17:04 in the 5k race.
Gonzaga alum Rosina Machu won the women's title in 15:45.
The men's team secured the win in the later race, finishing four runners in the top 15 spots to lock in the result. Gonzaga scored 39 points to down second place Montana's 50 points and third place Idaho's 63 points.
Gonzaga redshirts Sawyer Marquis and Dylan Weniger went 1-2 in 23:45, with the Zags' Gus Clevinger the first scorer across the line in third in 23:53.
