VERONA, Wisconsin--
On a pleasant and overcast day just outside the Wisconsin state capital city of Madison, the teams contesting the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational, traditionally one of the biggest NCAA Division I meets of the regular season, took their tour of the course in advance of Friday's meet, including the nationally ranked men's team from Washington State and the women's squads from Washington and Gonzaga.

In the latest USTFCCCA poll, the Washington women come in at number 17, while Gonzaga is ranked for the first time this season at number 20.

The Washington State men are ranked number 21 in the most current USTFCCCA poll.

Weather for race morning is expected to be in the high 60s when the two championship races get underway. The women's championship race is scheduled for 9:50 am Pacific time followed by the men's championship at 10:30 am Pacific (11:50 and 12:30 pm local time).

The loaded Nuttycombe fields will feature 19 of the top-30 ranked teams in the nation on the women's side.

The men's race features 17 of the top-30 teams in the nation.

Washington and Gonzaga were out on the course before noon, while Washington State and All-American Evans Kurui (Paul Merca photo) got to the course close to 4pm local time after having travel issues.

The Cougars missed their connecting flight from Denver into Madison Wednesday, and had to spend the night in Denver. They were put onto another flight Thursday morning to Milwaukee, then bussed from Milwaukee to Madison.

Both media partner RunnerSpace.com ($) and Big Ten+ ($) will stream the meet starting at 8:30 am Pacific with the women's B race at 8:30 am Pacific followed by the men's 8k B race at 9:10 am Pacific.
