According to this press release from the organizers (paste the link into Google Translate), Joe Waskom (Paul Merca photo) of the University of Washington, along with Husky alums Kieran Lumb and Sam Ellis, are entered in the men's 1500 at the Meeting Internazionale “Sport Solidarietà" in Lignano, Italy Friday night, local time.
Waskom, who is currently ranked 53rd in the "Road to Budapest" rankings in the men's 1500, and Lumb, who is ranked 48th, both need either to hit the world championship standard of 3:34.20, or place high enough to earn world rankings points.
