BIRMINGHAM, England--
Washington alum Amy-Eloise Markovc of England (Paul Merca photo) set a personal best in the 5000 meters on the final day of competition at the Commonwealth Games Sunday evening.

Markovc, the Snohomish high school product who attended Glacier Peak HS before going to the University of Washington, ran 14:58.60 to finish fourth in a race won by Beatrice Chebet of Kenya in 14:38.21.

In the same race, fellow Husky alum Izzi Batt-Doyle of Australia finished eighth in a tie of 15:13.53.
