LAUSANNE, Switzerland--Josh Kerr (Paul Merca photo) of the Brooks Beasts bounced back strong after missing the European Championships with a solid fourth place finish in the men's 1500 Friday at the Athletissima Lausanne meeting contested on a blustery evening at the Stade Olympique de la Pontaise.
Kerr ran his second fastest time of the season, clocking in at 3:32.28, as Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen of Norway ran 3:29.05, the fastest time in the world this season.
Former Husky and New Zealand Olympian Sam Tanner finished eighth in a time of 3:33.67.
With his fourth place finish, Kerr currently ranks eighth in the 1500 with 9 points, which should get him a spot in the the Wanda Diamond League finals September 7-8 at the Weltklasse meet in Zürich.
Washington alum Gianna Woodruff finished fifth in the women's 400 hurdles, as she ran 54.97.
Femke Bol of The Netherlands won in a meet record time of 52.95.
After Friday's meet, Woodruff stands sixth in the Wanda Diamond League standings in her event with 14 points, which should earn her a spot in Zürich.
