Kara Winger's farewell tour continues with victory at NACAC championships...

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama--
In her final season as an international level competitor, Vancouver native Kara Winger (Paul Merca photo) won the javelin Sunday to highlight the final day of the three-day NACAC Track & Field Championships at the Grand Bahama Sports Complex, featuring national teams from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean.

Winger threw a meet record 212-2 (64.68m) in the second round. That throw was a season best, eclipsing her previous season best of 210-10 (64.26m) that she threw at the Toyota USA Outdoor Championships in Eugene.

That mark also broke the NACAC meet record of 197-11 (60.34m) that she set in 2015 in San Jose, Costa Rica.

After her second round throw, she had one other mark over 60 meters, as she threw 197-2 (60.10m) in the fifth round.

Washington State alum CJ Allen finished third in the 400 hurdles, running 48.23, just off his personal best of 48.17, also set at the Toyota USA Outdoor Championships in Eugene.

Kyron McMaster of the British Virgin Islands won in 47.34, followed by Khallifah Rosser of the USA in 47.59.

In the men's 1500, Johnny Gregorek, who is coached remotely by UW men's head coach Andy Powell, finished fourth in a time of 3:38.04, while the Huskies' Kieran Lumb of Canada finished sixth in 3:43.73, after doubling in last night's 5000 meters.

Eric Holt of the USA won in 3:37.64.
