All four of Washington's Division II schools are in action this weekend, while only the three Washington schools east of the Cascades are competing this weekend, plus a small group of athletes from Seattle University.

Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, and Washington State will have athletes entered in Friday's Jeff Rahn Classic in Spokane, hosted by Whitworth University.

As of this writing (11 am Pacific time), entries have not been posted, but it's expected that all three schools' participants will primarily consist of athletes who either did not compete last week, or did not travel to Stanford (WSU & Gonzaga), or Las Vegas (Eastern Washington).

The meet gets underway at the Pine Bowl starting at 12:55 pm for the women's hammer and men's shot put. The first track event is the women's steeplechase starting at 3 pm.

Eastern Washington is sending multi event specialists Ella Seelhoff and Pry'nce Millman to Azusa, California to compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational heptathlon and decathlon meet starting Thursday. The combined events are being held separately from the main portion of the meet, which begins next Thursday.

Central Washington plays host to the CWU Wildcat Invitational on Saturday, beginning at 8 am with the 10000 meter runs, and going on until 5 pm with the final field events.

Seattle Pacific will send a full squad, led by defending GNAC hurdles champion Hannah Chang, who will face off against Central's Carley Huber and Ellie DeGroot in one of the best matchups of the afternoon.

Seattle University is sending a small group of athletes, primarily sprinters and horizontal jumpers.

Saint Martin's University, which did not compete last week, is sending a large contingent to Monmouth, Oregon for the two day John Knight Twilight meet, which begins Friday, hosted by Western Oregon.

Finally, Western Washington will make the short trip from Bellingham across the border to Langley, British Columbia for Saturday's Battle of Sparta, hosted by Trinity Western University.

The Vikings are coming off a strong performance by their sprint and hurdles group at the UCSD Triton Invitational in La Jolla, California that was topped off by Maurice Woodring's school and conference record 50.69 in the 400 hurdles.

Western's women ran the second fastest times in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays, clocking 46.43 and 3:42.76.

The men ran a school record 40.51 in the 4 x 100 relay, and clocked a time of 3:10.64 in the 4 x 400 relay. That mark is the second fastest time in school history.
