Nathan Green takes tumble with 200m to go at Silesia Diamond League meet...
SILESIA, Poland--Washinton alum Nathan Green's (Paul Merca file photo) hopes for an invitation to the Wanda Diamond League finals in Brussels in two weeks may have taken a hit after his tumble in the men's 1500 at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial meet Sunday afternoon.
The Kolimowska Memorial is the thirteenth meet of fifteen in the season long Wanda Diamond League series.
With about 200 meters to go, Green got tangled up, and he went down, taking Stefan Nillessen of the Netherlands with him.
Both got up, with Nillessen finishing 14th in 3:41.72, and Green 15th in 3:47.72.
North Carolina alum Ethan Strand of the USA was the surprise winner, running 3:30.77, followed by Phanuel Koech of Kenya in 3:31.14, and Olympic champion and Oregon All American Cole Hocker third in 3:31.16.

Green now has to wait to see if he gets invited to race in the final regular season meet of the Wanda Diamond League series in Zürich on Thursday.
After six of seven races in the Diamond League series in the men's 1500, Green stands 15th with 4 points. Strand's win clinched a spot in the finals in Brussels, moving hime to fourth with 16 points.
In addition, American Yared Nuguse, Australia's Cam Myers, and Kenya's Timothy Cheruiyot have clinched spots in the Diamond League finals September 4-5th.
